Air Fryer French Toast Sticks Recipe

French toast bread loaded with cinnamon and a splash of sugar will make your mornings that much better. French toast sticks are perfect comfort food that both adults and kids alike will love.

These healthy air fryer french toast sticks are so quick and easy to make even on your busy days. This is literally one of the easiest breakfast recipes, you'll ever make. These french toast sticks make a delicious breakfast but you can also make it healthier by adding omega-3 rich flax seeds. Another good idea is to use a high-quality whole grain loaf for this recipe.

Imagine nice and light batter, that when combined with air frying, it comes out nice and fluffy and will turn out great in an air fryer.
Dry your bread out first so you don't end up having your bread fall apart during the soaking process. Serve with your favorite French toast toppings, such as powdered sugar, a sugar and cinnamon mix, or syrup. They will be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

 4 (1 1/2-oz.) whole-grain bread slices
 2 large eggs
 ¼ cup 2% reduced-fat milk
 1 tsp vanilla extract
 ½ tsp ground cinnamon
 ¼ cup packed light brown sugar, divided
  cup flax seed meal
 Cooking spray
 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
 8 tsp pure maple syrup, divided
 1 tsp powdered sugar

Cut each slice of bread into 4 long sticks. Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and 1 tablespoon of the brown sugar in a shallow dish. Mix flax seed meal and remaining 3 tablespoons brown sugar in a second shallow dish. Dip bread pieces in egg mixture, slightly soaking them, and allow any excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in flax seed mixture, coating on all sides. Coat bread pieces with cooking spray.

Place bread pieces in a single layer in air fryer basket, leaving room between each piece, and cook in batches at 375°F until golden brown and crunchy, 10 minutes, turning pieces over halfway through cooking.

To serve, place 4 French toast sticks on each plate. Top with 1/2 cup strawberries, 2 teaspoons maple syrup, and a sprinkle of powdered sugar. Serve immediately.
